DeSoto State Park

If you went completely renovate a state park and spend a few million dollars here, what things would you do? Maybe large, flat campsite with picnic table and fire them. Why not 20, 30 and 50 amp connections throw at each site and if we, cable TV? How about with cobbled streets and new shower / toilet? At DeSoto State Park, have done all this and much more. There are 94 pages with a large number of pull-through sites andmore primitive camping. I think all parties are large enough for forty footer.

In fact there are many services that just list them all would require too much space. However, to give you an idea, a picnic area and playground, swimming pool, cabins, lodge motel and restaurant and 15 miles of trails and walks. Wi-Fi is available in the country store / Information Center, and the lodge. The two days we spent in DeSoto State Park is not an optionMore visits, but it was a very positive experience.

DeSoto State Park is located near Fort Payne, Alabama, which is about halfway between Chattanooga, TN, and Gadsden, AL. While there are a number of ways to get to DeSoto State Park when you get a large RV in the I-59 exit 222 or 218 should be better. Specific directions are on the website and the operator will also provide booking information.

All sites are $ 27.50 more11% tax. There is a $ 3 surcharge on weekends from March to October. They also calculated the Buddy sites to double the single location. Senior discount (62 years) is 15%. Although I am not familiar with or mate, they seem to pull websites with dual ports. This is a great idea for a group to stay together.

The Mountain Inn restaurant offers three meals a day and a buffet on Sunday. We were thrilled to learn there was a restaurant in DeSoto State Park, and we tested theirOur first morning breakfast fare. The restaurant and the lodge is rustic and pleasant. Unfortunately, the food does not meet our expectations. I suggest that if you eat for breakfast, try the continental breakfast with coffee, juice and a muffin is. L ', bacon and sausage biscuits have been less than satisfactory. Obviously I can not comment on the lunch or dinner.

We have reservations on the phone and it was a simple process. Check-in at the Country Store has been fast andThe staff has answered all the questions. primary care and some souvenirs are available at the store.

Seven or eight miles east of DeSoto State Park is the small town of Menton. There are several restaurants and some interesting shops. Park County Road 89 from a Mentone is that you take with a large camper. In fact, our 21 feet as big as I would like to take this road to the east of the park. On its way to Menton is Cloudmont Ski and Golf PassDeSoto Falls.

Within 25 miles of the park are available from the '(band) Alabama Fan Club - http://www.thealabamaband.com - Sequoyah and the caves along with a host of other attractions. Within 50 miles, you can visit the "unclaimed baggage" (yes, if your luggage ends up lost) in Scottsboro, AL. Russell Cave National Monument and Cathedral Caverns State Park is located only 50 miles. Huntsville, AL, and Chattanooga, TN are within 75 miles of DeSotoState Park

If you like the rest of the surrounding nature and the comforts of home, then take your RV DeSoto State Park
